Almost my birthday...!

Ugh, another year. Still working on my grad school applications/writing samples/statement of purpose. I think they're all in good shape.

I saw this story after all the T.R. Knight and Isaiah Washington fiasco. When should we use slurs in writing? And are we sacrificing the public's right to know versus some perceived sensitivity of the press? It's a tough call, but I believe facts should be more important.
