I had the hardest time finding a travel editor the other day. It took two weeks. Why, you ask? Because some publications don't want you to know the travel editor's e-mail address because you might bombard them with press releases (and queries.) Instead they have travelquery@publication.com. Why do they do this? To create a slush pile, which never benefits a writer.
