It's a beautiful day in my neighborhood . . .

I spent last night with drunken journalists and it was fun. I enjoyed the fact I won an award and had a good time.

There were the typical "Hey, we're all going to get laid off!" jokes, and it was nice to be around people who understand where you're coming from. I tried to mingle, too, something I don't normally do.

Ever meet those people who are so barely tolerating your existence so they can hook up with the biggest people in the room? Unfortunately I had only one encounter like that, but I already knew he would be like that.
The best part? I lived. I got an award and now it's back to finishing my assignments. I have two due on Monday! Yay! (And one rejection from the NY Times. Rats!)
